FUNDAMENTALS OF ADVOCACY

A poorly planned advocacy effort can do more harm than good. It can negatively impact the communities you aim to support and set back your cause. Advocacy is a key component of relief, development and humanitarian work. And it can also be our core approach when we want to:

  • Address unmet needs in the target community
  • Reverse or correct a situation
  • Prevent the loss of a valued asset or program
  • Change public opinion

If you are a relief, development or humanitarian worker - or part of a group that wants to improve the situation for your community - this course is for you.

WHAT THIS COURSE COVERS

  • What is Advocacy? And how is advocacy different from service?
  • Assessing whether it's the right time for advocacy for your group / issue
  • Survival Skills for Advocates - useful guidelines for a successful advocacy effort

The course is free, and you will have access for 30 days after signing up.

Best of luck
